Wow!! The wait is over, and well worth it. Here we have a concert from 1970 from an embryonic T.Rex that gives us an insight on what was shortly to be released upon an unsuspecting world. This eight track disc covers every mood that Bolan conjures. We have the mystical ‘Organ Blues,’ a frenetic ‘Hot Rod Mama,’ an aggressive ‘Jewel’ and a totally unique guitar inspired ‘Summertime Blues.’ This eclectic mix of both acoustic and electric songs, that were to become anthemic to a generation, serves to highlight just how good Bolan was in the ‘raw’ within a live environment. This offering certainly gives us an impression of being there at the show.
The beautiful black and white album cover is probably the best since the fabulous ‘Electric Warrior.’ Housed within is an informative liner sheet, a postcard and photograph, not to mention the visually stunning coloured vinyl! ‘Swansdown’ is quite simply a no-brainer for the great unwashed Bolan fan.
Hat’s off to the ever reliable and excellent guys at EA for giving us yet another top drawer piece of Bolan history.
It can’t get any better than this………….can it? 10/10

As any Bolan fan knows, finding a mixing board tape of Tyrannosaurus rex is no mean feat.
but this is what this album contains.
A superb sounding concert, containing a mixture of acoustic and electric songs finds Marc & Mickey nearing the end of the Tyrannosaurus era and looking forward to the T.Rex era.
I would recommend this album as the concert is a treat for the ears.
It comes in a quality sleeve containing rare photos on front and back.
Also there’s sleeve notes by Andy Gardner and more rare photos on the insert.
Best of all the album itself is a great pressing [I played it on a Rega turntable and it played without fault].
And it’s Purple vinyl which is a bonus.
