Description

Deluxe Card Gatefold Sleeve

The forgotten album recorded by half of the Small Faces Marriott & Lane in 1981  and shelved due to the fact that the pair could not undertake a world tour to support the album with Ronnies failing health the tapes lay gathering dust until we bought them off Steve’s old manager Laurie O Leary ( who had a quite colourful past himself as an associate of London’s notorious Kray Twins ). Fortunately the third member of the band Jim Leverton was happy to fill us in on what who where . It’s a great album ! Plus a whole disc of unreleased outtakes restored and remastered in 2014.

The extra tracks on this release include a few live performances from a gig at London’s Bridge House which are good to hear, including a very nice performance of `All or Nothing’.
The remaining bonus tracks on offer here are from the recording of this album and are best described as `work in progress’. Some backing tracks without vocals, some with different (unfinished) lyrics, studio chat (lots of expletives from Marriott) all in pretty poor sound. If, like me, you find this sort of thing interesting then it is well worth upgrading to the new version, however
The original `Majic Mijits’ album however (tracks 1-12), is absolutely wonderful and an essential purchase if you are a fan of either of these extraordinary musicians. Great songs, superbly performed, it has long been a favourite of mine.
